Moscow is one of the oldest and most beautiful metropolises in the world. Moscow boasts a long and enthralling history. The city has been completely destroyed and rebuilt anew a greta many times throughout the centuries. Each time the city was resurrected from ruins, it became further and additional gorgeous. The most talented and renowned architects were invited from around the world to restore Moscow. Thus, Moscow tourist attractions are truly worth a visit. Nowadays Moscow is the city where the past and the present live side by side in reciprocal tolerance and respect. Nearby ancient churches and cathedrals, there tower over ultramodern business centres and skyscrapers. But, first and foremost, Moscow is the centre of the Russian history. Red Square is the most famous city square in Moscow and, probably, one of the most famous in the world. It separates the Kremlin, which used to be the royal citadel and is now the official residence of Russia's President, from a historic trading part called Kitai-gorod. As the principal Moscow streets radiate from here in every direction, Red Square is often considered the central square of Moscow and of the Russian Federation. Resurrection Gate is the only existing gate of the Kitai-gorod in Moscow. It connects the north-western end of Red Square with Manege Square and gives its name to nearby Voskresenskaya Square (differently called Resurrection Square). Moscow parks are also popular with foreign visitors. Alexander Garden was one of the first public parks in Moscow. There are three separate gardens placed along the western Kremlin wall. The State Historical Museum of Russia is located between Red Square and Manege Square. There are exhibitions of remnants of the prehistoric tribes that live on the territory of present-day Russia as well as extremely valuable masterpieces of art obtained by the Romanov family. The number of items in the museum's collection averages out at millions. They say Moscow will certainly exhaust you before you exhaust its possibilities.
